Young women urged to have hairy legs to promote body confidence

A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in January 2019:

Another one for the bursting “You couldn’t make this s*** up!” file. A piece in today’s Times (print edition only) by Anna Behrmann, with the title, “Hair today – and tomorrow”:

Young women plan to ditch their razors and let their body hair grow as part of a “Januhairy” campaign to promote body confidence.

The founder, Laura Jackson, 21, a drama student at Exeter University, said she wanted women to be more comfortable with their natural hair.

Ms Jackson told The Daily Telegraph that girls were taught to equate body hair with masculinity: “They see hairless famous people on Instagram and think that I need to be like that to be accepted and be loved” she said.

She hopes to raise £1,000 for Body Gossip, an educational charity that campaigns on body-image issues.
