A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in February 2017:
This gem in today’s Times made my day. Sadly the hero of the piece is unnamed, but we raise a glass to him. Three questions trouble me, however:
- how is it possible for two people to spend £85 in a pub in Clapham, over one evening, even allowing for the ridiculous price of alcohol in London pubs and bars? Does the sum maybe include the man’s travel costs?
- did Lucy Brown contribute nothing towards the cost of the evening?
- how did Lucy Brown ‘inadvertently take home’ the man’s wristwatch? I’m 59, and I feel fairly confident in saying I’ve never taken home a woman’s wristwatch after a date, inadvertently or otherwise. (To be fair, ‘dates’ are distant memories now…).
