A snake and Francesca Lagerberg walk into a bar…

A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in September 2015:

Enjoy.

Inspired by the story in Accountancy Age, and following Ms Lagerberg winning her Gormless Feminist of the Month award, we may present her shortly with this award

Is air conditioning sexist? And how might you best deal with the whiny women in your life, whether at home or at work?

A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in August 2015:

[Note added 6.8.15: A Voice for Men article on this topic, just published, is here.]

Just when you thought women might be running out of things to whine about…

My thanks to a number of people for pointing us to a story about sexist air conditioning. A Sky News interview with a prime candidate for a ‘Whiny Woman of the Month’ award is here.

Last year one of our associated websites published some practical yet highly effective advice about how you might best deal with the whiny women in your life, whether at home or work – here.

Suggesting that women working in air-conditioned offices might wear something over their summer attire – oh, I don’t know, a thin jumper rather than hedge trimmings? – would, of course, be an insult to countless oppressed women over the millennia.

If office temperatures were raised to make women comfortable, it would result in men becoming uncomfortable. We’re sure women wouldn’t object if their male colleagues all removed their shirts in a bid to become more comfortable.

American radical leftist group Code Pink: “Bring Your Vagina To The Republican National Convention.”

A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in August 2015:

Our thanks to William Gruff for pointing us to this. The Code Pink ladies have ‘angry vaginas’, seemingly. Be sure to catch the lines above and below the photograph of one of their supporters.

6oodfella: A harrowing (and hilarious) tale of an all-female workplace

A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in July 2015:

6oodfella is a Scotsman, and one of my favourite audio and video bloggers. At times he’s had me in tears, laughing. The last post we published – about women in male-dominated workplaces – started me thinking about pieces we’ve published about female-dominated workplaces. About 18 months ago 6oodfella posted an audio commentary on a newspaper article written by Samantha Brick, who’d started a TV production company with a policy of hiring only women. What could possibly go wrong? Enjoy.

It’s time for a lesbian Peppa Pig. Norman Lamb MP, Lib Dem leadership hopeful, says gay children’s TV characters should ‘not be out of bounds’

A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in July 2015:

Tomorrow afternoon I expect to publish a second post about Peppa Pig, a preschool animated television series. The Daily Mail article about the matter is here. Extracts from the piece:

More gay characters are needed on children’s television to send out the message same sex relationships are of ‘equal value’ to any other, Lib Dem leadership contender Norman Lamb has said.

Mr Lamb, who is standing against Tim Farron for the party leadership, said having a gay Peppa Pig should ‘absolutely not be out of the question’.

The former care minister said the lack of same-sex relationships on children’s TV suggests there is a ‘limit’ to gay rights…

Mr Lamb said: ‘We have to be true to the legislation we’ve passed. The legislation very clearly says that a loving relationship between two people of the same sex is of equal value, so in everything that we then do, as a society, we need to reinforce that, not deny it.’

Asked if that meant there should be gay characters on the show Peppa Pig, Mr Lamb said: ‘It should absolutely not be out of bounds, which it appears to be at the moment.’

He added if gay characters were banned from children’s TV ‘it tells that teenager, who is struggling to come to terms with her sexuality, that there is something not quite normal about how they feel’.

Note the cynical conflation of Peppa Pig with children’s TV and teenagers. If I had a teenage daughter (or son, for that matter) watching Peppa Pig, I’d be very concerned.

We wish Normal Lamb every success in his leadership bid. If successful, the Lib Dems will surely remain in the wilderness for another five years following the 2020 general election.

Fawcett Society: The victims of female genital mutilation are exclusively women and girls

A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in July 2015:

Belinda Phipps is the ‘chair’ of The Fawcett Society. As befits someone who self-identifies as an item of furniture, she was among the co-signatories of a letter published today in The Guardian, in response to the letter from Ally Fogg and 30 co-signatories about the recent CPS report on ‘violence against women and girls’ – a term which was officially defined as including violence against men and boys.

The start of the second paragraph in the ladies’ letter:

It is established fact that these crimes are massively disproportionately committed against women and girls (female genital mutilation exclusively so)…

… and in breaking news, the victims of male genital mutilation are exclusively men and boys.

This is surely an appropriate time to point out that the inaugural winners of our ‘Gormless Feminist of the Month’ awards were the women who work at The Fawcett Society. Their award certificate is here.

BBC’s voice of golf Peter Alliss (84) causes new sexism storm by saying Open winner’s wife would spend his winnings on a new kitchen

A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in July 2015:

Priceless. A tip of the hat to Mr Alliss.

An extract from the article:

He (Alliss) said that many female players had given up the sport as a result of changes to the law saying: ‘There’s been a hell of a row because four golf courses that hold the Open Championship didn’t have women members.

‘I’m told the Ladies’ Golf Union has lost 150,000 members since equality for women came in. Hundreds of women have left golf clubs because they’ve gone from paying half fare to full fare. It’s caused mayhem.

‘All of the wives of members at these clubs could have used the facilities for free. When I was at Muirfield a couple of years ago talking to a few of the lady members, I said: “What about this equality? You must be happy about that?” “God no,” they said. “We can come here and do what we like, we can play golf and don’t pay anything”.’

Gender equality is a fine thing…

Young American woman films her bid to win a ‘Gormless Feminist of the Month’ award, claiming, ‘You’re raping me. This is rape. This is rape. This is rape.’

A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in July 2015:

Well, this video (5:49) is interesting. A young American woman in a car resists arrest by a policeman – throughout the exchange he displays the patience of a saint, it has to be said – and she records the encounter, in a transparent bid to win a ‘Gormless Feminist of the Month’ award. At 1:40:

I am not a US citizen. I am a free inhabitant. I am of the Earth. I do not belong to any corporation. I do not belong to any country. A free inhabitant is… is… is… they are free people, they have all the rights of a US citizen without following any of their laws.

Displaying admirable control, the policeman drily responds:

Well, that would be pure anarchy, if that were the case.

At 3:21 she makes some dubious claims, all things considered:

You’re raping me. This is rape. This is rape. This is rape.

She then screams. At 5:04, the high point of her bid to win our award:

Policeman: You’re under arrest.
Woman: No, I’m not.

It turns out he was right, and she was wrong.
