Matt Hancock (C, West Suffolk), winner of a Toady award in 2012, wears socks printed with “This is what a feminist looks like”

A sock worn by a Toad

In 2012, the year before the launch of J4MB, I spent a good deal of time on my blog The Anti-Feminism League, but since the launch of this blog in 2013, I haven’t spent time on it. In March 2012 I posted a piece titled We need to talk about The Rt Hon Matthew Hancock MP. It was prompted by a supporter emailing me this:

There’s an article by Matthew Hancock MP today in the Times which will make your blood boil…page 37…..the man should get a ‘Creep of the Year’ award let alone a ‘Toady’. He cites percentages of this and that which purport to show that adding women to boards improves corporate performance. His view is that there is “overwhelming evidence” to show that more women on boards grows businesses, which is startling and infantile at the very least (as well as being utterly wrong, as we know from the Norwegian experience). Then he adds in the usual sneering manner that anyone who doesn’t share his bigoted views is a Luddite….what a slime ball.

I duly presented Hancock with a Toady award. Do check it out, the image of the toad is something special.

Around the middle of last month a story about Hancock’s socks came to my attention, but it’s taken me time to get round to posting on it. A Daily Mail piece on Hancock’s socks is here.

Boris Johnson waves kipper and declares himself a feminist at final hustings

A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in July 2019:

If we needed reminding that Boris Johnson isn’t a social conservative, and is of a like mind with David Cameron on gender political issues – they were at Oxford University at the same time – it’s here. An extract:

At the hustings, Boris Johnson also described himself ‘absolutely’ as a feminist, to applause from the audience. He said: ‘A feminist is somebody who believes fundamentally in the equality of human beings and the equality of the sexes. [J4MB: No, a feminist is someone who believes in increasing female privilege at the expense of males, regardless of the harm that results to men, women, and children.] That’s what I believe.’ But he said he wouldn’t support all-women shortlists to increase the number of female politicians in the Tory party. ‘I’m not certain that introducing quotas, which are by their nature discriminatory, are the way to solve the problem,’ he said. [J4MB: There is, of course, no problem to be solved. At the last count, men outnumbered women 10:1 as prospective parliamentary candidates.  By this metric, women are considerably OVER-represented as MPs and peers.]

Boris Johnson describes himself as “absolutely” a feminist

A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in July 2019:

Last night Iain Dale asked Boris Johnson, during the final hustings of the Tory party leadership, if he’s a feminist. His response is over 1:17:21 – 1:20:02 here. After describing himself as “absolutely” a feminist, he spouts nonsense about the education of girls in the third world, a matter which occupied him when he was Foreign Secretary. William Collins wrote a piece about the issue at the time, World Education by Sex. It’s also covered in his excellent recently-published book, The Empathy Gap: Male Disadvantages and the Mechanisms of Their Neglect.

Victoria Atkins MP: Her misleading statement to parliament about men being the majority of perpetrators of domestic abuse against men – one of seven claims that contributed to our giving Franki Hackett, Women’s Aid spokeswoman, a “Lying Feminist of the Month” award in 2014

A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in July 2019:

Not long ago we linked to William Collins’s new piece Domestic Abuse: The Latest Lie. It was prompted by a statement by Victoria Atkins MP, in the debate relating to the first reading of the Domestic Abuse Bill. The start of the article:

In the context of a debate in the House of Commons on the Domestic Abuse Bill (on which I have posted previously) the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Crime, Safeguarding and Vulnerability, Victoria Atkins, made this statement,

“…of the 2 million victims, we estimate that around 1.3 million are female and around 695,000 are male, and within that 695,000 we believe – it is very difficult to identify this, and there are problems in doing so – that the majority of perpetrators are male.”

The statement is false. It has been known to be false for decades. It is doubly false, in fact because it is neither difficult nor problematic to confirm that it is false.

A weight of evidence, both recent and going back decades, confirms that the overwhelming bulk of partner abuse against men, and the majority of domestic abuse of men, is perpetrated by women. This article will present the data.

Atkins’s claim – in essence, that the majority of male victims of domestic abuse are in gay relationships – is a lie with a long pedigree. In June 2014, in the course of an online discussion with Glen Poole, Franki Hackett (a young Women’s Aid spokeswoman) uttered a total of seven lies or misleading statements. Her “Lying Feminist of the Month” award is here. We sent Polly Neate, then CEO, a public challenge with our analysis concerning those seven statements, seeking their retraction. Needless to say, she declined. On pp 4,5 of our analysis we considered the lie, “A very large proportion of male victims of DV are suffering at the hands of male partners.” Our analysis showed that in 2008/9, 92.7% of male victims of partner abuse were heterosexual, and only 7.3% gay.

Julie Bindel: Why woke men fear real feminism

A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in July 2019:

The latest nonsense from Julie “gender is no longer a social contruct” Bindel.

In 2014 Bindel apologised privately to me, after wrongly branding me a liar for a point I’d made during a debate with her and Swayne O’Pie at Durham University, but she declined to apologize publicly. The story is here.

In 2015 she won our Toxic Feminist of the Month award.

Feminism is Cancer.

The Royal Navy airlifted 35 sailors from its ships after finding out they were pregnant at sea over past 14 years

A piece published on the website of Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them), the political party of which I’m the chairman, in July 2019:

Our thanks to Mike P for this. The start of the piece:

At least 35 servicewomen have had to be airlifted from Royal Navy ships after discovering they were pregnant, it has emerged.

The female sailors were all removed from duty after unknowingly conceiving children while on duty or on shore.

We need more women in the Armed Forces, but preferably not ones with a tendency to unknowingly conceive children.
